The Basque Government awards a key contract to improve real-time transmission
The Basque Government has awarded SVP Aerospace a strategic contract for the modernization of the video coverage system for the Ertzaintza helicopters. This new equipment will enhance real-time image transmission and aircraft localization for security and surveillance operations.
Thanks to this system, the EC-135 helicopters will have full coverage across the Basque Country, ensuring a stable and high-quality connection at all times. Additionally, it will enable the live transmission of video captured by Flyr, along with GPS positioning, displaying the helicopter’s real-time location on a map.
One of the key innovations of this project is the integration of an NSS automatic switching system, which will intelligently select the best reception points at any given moment. This will ensure seamless communication without interference, optimizing the operational efficiency of the helicopters in critical situations.
With this award, the Basque Government strengthens its commitment to advanced technology to enhance the security and operational capabilities of the Ertzaintza. Meanwhile, SVP Aerospace consolidates its leadership in aerial transmission solutions, providing innovation and reliability to communication systems in high-demand environments.
This system will significantly improve the management of aerial operations, facilitating real-time decision-making with clear and precise information visualization. The ability to transmit live video and display the exact location of the aircraft will optimize coordination and response in surveillance and rescue missions.
With this new contract, SVP Aerospace and the Basque Government take a significant step forward in modernizing the technological infrastructure of the Ertzaintza helicopters, ensuring a robust, efficient transmission system aligned with Euskadi’s security needs.
