Patch Antenna
AC
The AC patch antenna is especially useful for up and down links from the ground to the helicopter or aircraft. The radiation pattern is 80° x 80°, perpendicular to the base of the antenna, and therefore the gain is higher than the one offered by a hemispherical antenna.
The antenna has a small size and a reduced weight which allows a minimal wind resistance. It is a circular polarized antenna that makes it especially useful in environments with multipath.
